Match presented by Eye Care Center at WakeMed Soccer Park
The undefeated Carolina RailHawks (2-0-2) are all set to host the Minnesota Thunder (3-1-0) on Sunday, May 18th at WakeMed Soccer Park at 6:00 PM. The match is presented by Eye Care Center, the official eye care facility of the Carolina RailHawks. Tickets ($10, $15 and $20) may be purchased at the LGFCU Box Office by calling 919-859-KICK (5425) or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
The RailHawks are still undefeated this season and look to continue their positive streak by staying at the top of the tables. Forward Dan Antoniuk, who was named to the USL-1 Team of the Week for the second week in a row, will look to continue to excite the crowds with his style of play and scoring.
“It’s a huge game for position in the tables,” said RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. “The Thunder are only one point above us and may potentially be four points above us by Sunday as they play in Atlanta on Friday. They’re doing very well but we have to establish the boundaries on our home field and keep the three points here to stay high up in the standings.”
The Minnesota Thunder had a terrific start of the season posting three wins and one loss. Head Coach Amos Magee has put together an impressive team in the off season adding forwards Freddy Moojen and Alen Marcina, midfielder Dayton O’Brien and defender/midfielder Tighe Dombrowski who is RailHawks defender Chad’s brother.
"We saw the RailHawks in preseason and they are a very solid and organized group,” said Thunder Head Coach Amos Magee. “2007 MVP finalist Dan Antoniuk has integrated well with Carolina and will provide us with a challenge on Sunday."
The Carolina RailHawks organization will make history on Friday, May 16th when the Carolina RailHawks Women bring back competitive women’s soccer to the Triangle as they host the Atlanta Silverbacks at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park. The RailHawks will make history again by hosting the first of two W-league/USL-1 double headers this season. On Saturday May 24th the RailHawks Women will host the Carolina Dynamo at 4:00 PM and the RailHawks men will host their arch rivals from New York, the Rochester Rhinos at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park. Tickets for these events are available by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com or by calling the LGFCU Box Office at 919-859-KICK (5425)
