Downtown Traffic Alerts For April 29 And May 3

There are several downtown events that will affect traffic from April 29 through May 3, including the Raleigh Rescue Mission’s Community Appreciation Festival and a parade for fallen firefighters, among others. 

 

Several downtown events will affect traffic from April 29-May 3:

  • April 29
  • Traffic will be affected downtown on April 29 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 400 block of Fayetteville Street will be closed for an event.

 

  • May 3
  • The 300 and 400 blocks of E. Hargett Street will be closed on May 3 from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. between Person Street and South Street for Raleigh Rescue Mission’s Community Appreciation Festival.
  • Traffic will be affected downtown on May 3 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. for a charity walk. No streets will be closed, however police will be assisting with crowd and traffic control. Walkers will assemble on Halifax Mall and enter Lane Street, turn left onto Salisbury Street, left onto Morgan Street, left onto Person Street, turn left onto Lane Street and proceed back to Halifax Mall.
  • Traffic will be affected downtown for a parade for fallen firefighters on May 3 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The 200 block of West Hargett Street will remain closed until 4 p.m. The parade will travel along Hillsborough Street to Dawson Street, south on Dawson Street to Nash Square, left on Martin Street and circle the park back to Hargett Street.
  • Traffic will be affected downtown on May 3 from 11 a.m. until 4 a.m on May 4 for an outdoor event. The 100 block of South West Street will be closed.
